HOOVER – Hoover City Schools has announced that all schools and offices will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 16, because of the threat of winter weather.

All afternoon and evening school activities for Jan. 16 are cancelled.

Also cancelled is the monthly meeting of the HCS Board of Education. The meeting has been rescheduled for Monday, Jan. 22, at 5:30 p.m. at the central office, located at 2810 Metropolitan Way in Hoover.

“We will continue to monitor weather conditions throughout Tuesday as they relate to Wednesday,” Spokesman Jason Gaston said in a press release. “Please be on the lookout for additional communication as warranted.”
