PELHAM – Those looking to have a good time while benefiting an organization working to combat autoimmune diseases will have a chance to do so in mid-February at Venue 31 in Pelham.

The Many Infinities nonprofit organization will hold its third-annual Polka Dot Party beginning at 6 p.m. at the Pelham venue, which is at 3150 Lee Street, Suite A.

The Polka Dot Party will be emceed by Tasha Simone from the 107.7 FM radio station, live music will be provided by the band “Be Sharp but Natural” and the event is sponsored by the JOX 94.5 and Talk 99.5 radio stations. In addition to live entertainment, the event will feature a silent auction and wine tasting.

“One-hundred-percent of the proceeds from the Third Annual Polka Dot Party will fund the Infinitely You Autoimmune Health and Wellness Program and the Ruby L. Butler Patient Program, through which patients brave families continue to receive education, advocacy and comprehensive services which aid in diseases management, remission and prevention,” said Many Infinities President Deven Woods. “Furthermore, this community support allows us to collect and disseminate current autoimmune data, which will impact clinical treatment and public understanding of autoimmune diseases, throughout Alabama and beyond.”

Tickets are $30 apiece, and are available at Manyinfinities.org or by calling 258-0222. Many Infinities’ headquarters is located off Plaza Circle in Alabaster.

Many Infinities was founded in early 2015 as one of the only national nonprofit organizations with the focus of supporting those with autoimmunity issues.

Autoimmunity is a hereditary condition through which a person’s immune system believes the human body is harmful and attacks body tissues.

Woods said more than 50 million Americans are affected by more than 100 types of autoimmune disease. Examples of autoimmune diseases include arthritis, lupus, type I diabetes, multiple sclerosis, scleroderma, Grave’s disease and Sjogrens.

Woods said she founded Many Infinities as a way to support those affected by the diseases, and said she has faced chronic pain for years as a result of autoimmune diseases.
