ALABASTER – Meadow View Elementary School parents who are looking to get a head start on registering their upcoming kindergarteners will have a chance to do so in early April before taking a tour of the school, MVES leaders recently announced.

The school’s early kindergarten registration period will be on Wednesday, April 4, from 7-11 a.m., and on Thursday, April 5, from noon-6 p.m. The school is encouraging parents to take advantage of the early registration period so they can get their children registered before the summer months.

In order to register their upcoming kindergarteners, parents or guardians will need the following:

-Certified birth certificate, of which the school will make a copy.

– Current original Alabama immunization form showing kindergarten shots

– Social Security card or tax document (optional)

– Two of the following current proofs of residence: Mortgage statement, lease, power bill, gas bill or water bill with service address listed.

-Parent/guardian ID

– Custody documents (if applicable)

For those who miss the kindergarten pre-registration in April, MVES will offer in-person registration during the summer, although dates have not yet been finalized.

Online registration forms for all ACS students will be available in June, and all ACS parents or legal guardians are required to complete online registration forms.

MVES also will hold its annual kindergarten tour at the school on Tuesday, April 24, beginning at 9 a.m.

During the event, upcoming kindergarteners and their parents will have a chance to tour the school, meet their teachers, get their school supply list and enjoy a snack with their future classmates. The school is encouraging parents to not bring siblings to the kindergarten tour.
