Leadership Shelby County group to host Non-Profit Summit

HELP SHELBY COUNTY, a group project of the Leadership Shelby County Class of 2018, will host a Non-Profit Summit on Tuesday, April 24, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Double Oak Community Church.
The HELP SHELBY COUNTY 2018 Non-Profit Summit will offer both educational and networking opportunities and will feature a welcome breakfast, keynote lunch and breakout sessions throughout the day with presentations from both local presenters and representatives from Orchard, an Atlanta, Georgia-based ministry offering training and leadership development for non-profits.
Breakout session topics will include: fundraising, creating and effectively presenting an organizational narrative, communications and social media, board governance and strategic planning, grant writing, and successful event management.
Keynote speakers featured at lunch will be Hollie Cost, mayor of the City of Montevallo; and Dan Hayes, executive director and founder of Orchard.
Sponsors of the event are Double Oak Community Church, Orchard, Alabama Power Company, Dreamscape Landscape Development, Dollar Associates LLC, Celeste Heavenly Boutique, and Golden Flake.
HELP SHELBY COUNTY is providing this opportunity to non-profits and churches in Shelby County as a way to recognize the tremendous impact they have on our community and its citizens.
Participation in the 2018 Non-Profit Summit is free and open to any member of the Shelby County non-profit and church community.
The goal of HELP SHELBY COUNTY is to help the Shelby County non-profit community leverage resources, foster greater collaboration and engage more of our citizens in community endeavors.
