Roslyn T. “Roro” Lovejoy, age 84, of Montevallo, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Wednesday, May 9.

She was a member of Aldrich First Baptist Church. She earned many jewels in her heavenly crown by raising her family and providing care to those in need. She loved family gatherings and was very active in the church. She was an avid Alabama football fan. She loved reading the newspaper and the Bible every day.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Lovejoy; her sons, Freddie Crawford Lovejoy and Lonnie Edward Lovejoy; and all of her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children, Susan Vance (Don), Terry Lovejoy (LaDonna), George Lovejoy (Sandi) and Laurie Ann Lucas (Gerald); grandchildren, Rachel Welk (Darell), Bruce Lovejoy, Amanda Gottier (Dennis), Bradley Lovejoy, Lonnie Wayne Lovejoy (Beth), Dallas Lucas (Katelin Minor), Colby Lucas (Taylor); great-grandchildren, Josie, Chase, Braiden, Rylie, Layken, Bralynne, Adelaide, Lakelynn, Alana, and Jade; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 10 at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo) beginning at 1 p.m., with a graveside service to follow at Montevallo City Cemetery at 2 p.m. Bro. Dennis Draper will officiate.

The family requests any memorial donations be made to Compassus Living Foundation or Cure Alzheimer’s Fund.
