Apparent road rage shooting leaves one with life-threatening injuries

ALABASTER – A shooting following an apparent road rage incident in Alabaster left one person with life-threatening injuries, according to the Alabaster Police Department.

APD responded to a shooting at about 10:55 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, at the Interstate Chevron off U.S. 31 near the Interstate 65 exit in Alabaster, according to a press release.

A shooting victim was found to be suffering from a life-threatening injury and was flown to UAB Hospital for treatment.

“APD is speaking with two people of interest at this time,” the release stated. “This appears to possibly be a road rage incident that began on Simmsville Road and ended at the Interstate Chevron.”

The victim’s name was not released because of an ongoing investigation.

Police asked anyone who witnessed any interaction between a white four-door sedan and a black four-door sedan around the time of the shooting in the area of Simmsville Road or U.S. 31 to call Alabaster Police Department at 663-7401.
