Roy Charles Moxley, age 85 of Montevallo, left this world behind for his Heavenly homecoming on Monday, May 21.

He was born in Talladega on April 27, 1933; the son of the late Charlie M. Moxley and the late Jessie Mae Salter Moxley.

He worked as a machinist for 43 years, with many of those years spent at ABC Rail in Calera. He was a member of the Providence Baptist Church No. 1. After his retirement he loved to pittle. He was a dedicated and beloved husband, father, pawpaw, brother, and son.

He is survived by his son, Tony (Cathy) Moxley of Montevallo; son, Lane (Cathy) Moxley of Montevallo; daughter, Sharon Hopper of Jemison; daughter, Kay Johnson of Montevallo; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister, Jessie Nell Watts of Lineville; sister, Betty Moxley of Talladega; sister, Judy Morris of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Jennings Moxley; parents, Charlie and Jessie Mae Moxley; and brother, Carl Moxley.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 26 at 11 a.m. from Providence Baptist Church No. 1 with Rev. Allen Foster officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow in the Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera.

The family request in lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Providence Baptist Church No. 1.
