Hoover resident killed in single-vehicle wreck

HOOVER – A Hoover resident was killed in a single-vehicle wreck in the early morning hours of Monday, May 29.

Hoover Police and Fire responded to the scene of the wreck on Greystone Highlands Circle and 12:09 a.m., according to information released by the Hoover Police Department.

First responders found that a 2011 gray Ford Explorer was traveling south on Greystone Highlands Circle when it left the roadway and struck a tree, according to HPD.

The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was found deceased inside the vehicle, according to HPD.

The victim was identified as Terry Ray Provines, 52, of Hoover.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

The Hoover Police Traffic Unit is investigating the wreck to determine its cause.
