PELHAM – The Birmingham Figure Skating Club’s Magic City Theater on Ice teams will be treating the public to a free performance at noon on Saturday, June 23, at the Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena.

The Send Off to Nationals Exhibition will serve as the teams’ last official practice before they travel to Geneva, Illinois for the 12th National Theatre on Ice competition June 26-30. This is an opportunity for guests to see what the teams will be performing at nationals and to wish them luck.

Magic City Theatre On Ice is coached and choreographed by Danny Tate, Anita Saxena, Emily Sanders, Michelle Hunt of the nationally ranked Harmony Theatre Company, Priscilla Fowler, and Michelle Cox Badgley.

The Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena is the home of the Pelham Skating School and Birmingham Figure Skating Club, a member of U.S. Figure Skating. Both work in tandem and are dedicated to the development of figure skating by providing learn-to-skate opportunities and advanced training for competitive figure skating.

Theatre on Ice is a form of competitive figure skating that is popular in Europe, where it is known as Ballet on Ice. It combines the grace of figure skating with the excitement of theatre and dance.

The Birmingham Figure Skating Club works in partnership with the PCC through its Pelham Ice Skating School. As skaters come up through the ranks, they are invited to the Club, where they have an opportunity to compete through the U.S. Figure Skating Club.
