Curtis Reedy Dennis, age 97, of Calera, passed away Friday, June 29.

He was born in Alabama to Charles A. and Teresa (Jones) Dennis. He married his wife, Jewel Mae (Allen) Dennis on Sept. 22, 1943. They were married for sixty-six years at her death on July 22, 2009. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII.

Mr. Dennis is survived by his two daughters, Diane Booth and Linda Castle (Richard); son, Ronnie Dennis (Betty); brother, Clinton Dennis (Janice); and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Sunday, July 1 from 6-8 p.m. in the chapel of Charter Funeral Home. A graveside service was held on Monday, July 2 at 2 p.m. in Chilton County Memorial Gardens. Minister Larry Jones officiating.
