PELHAM – Pump It Up Pelham will host its annual Back to School Bash on Monday, July 30, from 3-7 p.m.

The event costs $15 per child, which includes pizza and drinks for each child. There will be a balloon drop as well as a bubbles machine and glow lights. Urban Pops will be onsite selling popsicles.

Pump It Up Pelham general manager Ryon Smith said Urban Pop, located in Hoover, will be on site selling popsicles.

“This is one of our bigger event of the year,” Smith said. “We usually have 60-70 kids attending. This is just an opportunity for kids to blow off some steam before school starts.”

This location is also gearing up to kick off its afterschool program once school starts back. The program is for Pelham Ridge and Pelham Oaks elementary students only.

The program costs $60 for one child and $55 for each additional child. The registration fee is $45. Pump It Up will pick up the kids at each school at transport them to Pump It Up. The students will be allowed to play, work on homework and will receive a snack.

Smith said kids in the program will not interact with the general public.

“Our owner has always wanted to do something like this, but there wasn’t enough space at our previous location,” Smith said. “Now we have more than enough space to do it. We have classroom space available upstairs, and that is where the students will be. We will have employees designated to supervise this group.”
