Frances Lokey Phelps, age 95, of Wilsonville, passed away Thursday, Aug. 30.

The visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 4 from 9-10 a.m. at Bolton Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 10 a.m., at the funeral home with Pastor Cliff Craft officiating. Burial will follow at the Alabama National Cemetery. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

As an active member of her community, she was a member of Alabama Silver Haired Legislature, former two-term Mayor of Wilsonville, member of the Wilsonville United Methodist Church, charter member of Quilts of Valor in Wilsonville, member of DAR, past member of the Wilsonville Civitan Club, and Board Member at the VA Hospital in Birmingham. She also served on the Review Board at the Shelby County Tax Accessor’s Office, and served as a Poll Inspector.

Mrs. Phelps is survived by her daughter, Anne L. Phelps; sons, David M. Phelps, Samuel C. Phelps, and Joseph R. Phelps (Kathy); daughter-in-law, Wendi Phelps; grandchildren, Julia L. Phelps, Andrew Phelps (Beka), Jason Caldwell (Jennifer), Amy Phelps, Jennifer Watson (Matt), Matthew Phelps, Lauren Phelps, and Everett Phelps; great grandchildren, Hanna, Abigail, Jaysa-Hope, Brodey, Braylen, Makalyn, Mattie, Abbie, Mason, Allie Grace, Emma Kate, and John Louis; sisters-in-law, Frances Lokey and Marina Phelps; nephews, Arno Sprague (Claudia), Clyde Kendrick, and Montgomery Lokey (Mary Ellen); nieces, Elayne Gibson (Charles) and Nadine Revis; and many great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, and a multitude of friends.
