OMSP’s Harvest Festival set for Oct. 13

PELHAM – Oak Mountain State Park’s annual Harvest Festival will take place on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Terrace Drive day use area.

The festival celebrates the fall in the south and welcomes in the varied autumn colors that fill OMSP each year.

The festival will feature music, several food vendors, fun activities such as corn hole, painting pumpkins, mining for gems, inflatables and pony rides provided by Rusted Roof Barn.

Free hay rides will take place throughout the day and there will be a meet and greet with raptors from the Alabama Wildlife Center’s Education Ambassadors program. Local vendors will be on site with homemade goods, clothing, football game day attire and sweet treats.

The Alabama Department of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries has signed on to offer a free fishing clinic for children from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All supplies will be provided.

A morning yoga class will be offered by Yoga Trekking International 9 a.m. Whether a beginner or advanced, the yoga class will be enjoyable for everyone. Party Art will be attending, offering an opportunity for guests to paint their own door hangers or wall décor.

Regular park entrance fees apply and parking is free.
