Pelham man charged with multiple counts of second-degree rape

PELHAM – A Pelham man remains in jail after being charged by the Pelham Police Department with five counts of second-degree rape and one count of distributing a controlled substance to a minor.

Jacob Oliver Green, 25, who lists an address on Overhill Drive, was arrested by the PPD on Sept. 5. According to court documents, Green is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with a female who is between 12 to 16 years old from July to September 2018.

During the same July to September time period, Green is also accused of distributing marijuana to a minor.

As of Wednesday, Sept. 12, Green was being held in the Shelby County Jail on $65,000 bond. His case is assigned to Judge Daniel Crowson Jr., and his preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 26 at 8:30 a.m.

Second-degree rape is a Class B felony punishable upon conviction with a two- to 20-year prison sentence. Distributing a controlled substance to a minor is a Class A felony punishable upon conviction with 10 years to life in prison.
