HHS hosting homecoming parade Oct. 12

HELENA – The Helena High School varsity football team will attempt to win its third straight game when the Huskies take on Carver Birmingham the night of Friday, Oct. 12, but prior to the game, fans will have a chance to celebrate homecoming festivities by getting in the spirit at the homecoming parade.

The homecoming parade will begin on the campus of Helena High School at 10:15 a.m. on Oct. 12.

Access to the Helena High School will be restricted from 9:30-11 a.m. as spectators for the parade are being asked to line the sidewalks on Hillsboro Parkway closest to Coalmont Road.

Any parent needing to check out a student should do so before 9:30 a.m. or after 11 a.m.

Other homecoming activities for students include a dodgeball tournament, video game tournament and trivia tournament beginning at 1:10 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11, followed by a powderpuff football game at 2:10 p.m.

The game between Helena and Carver Birmingham will kick off at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12.

Announcement of the homecoming court and crowning of the queen will take place at 6:30 p.m.
