FROM STAFF REPORTS

All United States Postal Service locations will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 5, in recognition of a national day of mourning for former President George H.W. Bush.

Retail service will not be offered, regular mail will not be delivered, and package delivery will be limited, according to USPS.

“President Donald J. Trump has declared Dec. 5 as a national day of mourning, calling on Americans to remember the vast contributions of former President H.W. Bush,” read a release from USPS. “To honor the life and legacy of President Bush, the Postal Service will observe the national day of mourning.”

Because of the closing, Shelby County Reporter will not be delivered to subscribers on Wednesday, Dec. 5, but instead on Thursday, Dec. 6.

The newspaper will still be available in racks across Shelby County on Wednesday, Dec. 5.
