ALABASTER – After a couple of weeks of altered schedules due to holidays, the city of Alabaster’s trash, recycling and curbside pickup schedules will return to normal the first full week in January.

During the weeks of Dec. 24-28, 2018, and Dec. 31, 2018-Jan. 4, the pickup schedule was running a day later than normal, as the city’s offices were closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

From Jan. 2-5, garbage and recycling pickup will be collected a day later than normal to allow the city to get back on a normal schedule beginning on Jan. 7. Curbside rubbish collection did not run on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day, and the service will also return to its normal schedule on Jan. 7.

For Alabaster residents looking to get rid of their old live Christmas trees, the city will collect them via its curbside rubbish collection service on the next normal service day. Shelby County is also offering a used Christmas tree drop-off location in the parking lot of the AmStar movie theater in the Propst Promenade shopping center through Friday, Jan. 4.

Once the schedule returns to normal on Jan. 7, the city will follow the same pickup schedule it did in 2018:
