Anne Kay Williams Moore
Wilsonville

Anne Kay Williams Moore, age 86, of Wilsonville, died Thursday, Feb. 28.

The visitation will be Saturday, March 2 from 10-11 a.m. at Bolton Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will take place afterwards at Fourmile Cemetery in Wilsonville with Dr. Mike Miller officiating. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

She was the only child of John K. and Lily King Williams. A native of Athens, Georgia, she lived most of her life in Birmingham but moved to Wilsonville in 1993. She attended Barrett Elementary and Woodlawn High Schools and graduated summa cum laude from Howard College (now Samford University) in 1953, where she was class valedictorian. At Howard, she majored in Spanish and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

She was a member of Ruhama and Huffman Baptist churches and, for the last several years, of First Baptist Church of Columbiana. She was active in the community and was a member of many clubs, including Round Table, Cheerful Gardeners, Homemakers Club, Samford Legacy League, and a Great Books reading group.

She was a life-long learner who read voraciously (especially biographies) and loved classical music (especially Tchaikovsky). Anne was an avid gardener who was happiest tending her many houseplants and cultivating her flowerbeds.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dr. Harold E. Moore; four children, Lisa Anne Moore (Paul Loethen), of Chicago, Illinois, D. Kinley Moore (Sondra) of Alabaster, Ellen Moore Howard (Keith) of Wetumpka, and Dr. Roger E. Moore (Brian Jackson) of Nashville, Tennessee; and five grandchildren, Dr. Ashley Loethen, Matthew Moore, Elisabeth Moore, Christopher Howard, and Andrew Howard.

If desired, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Columbiana Youth Mission Trip.
