COLUMBIANA – High school girls interested in learning the ins and outs of countless careers in construction may now register for a camp through Shelby County Schools coming up this summer.

The Girls Can 2019 summer camp will be taking place June 10-14 and registration is now open for girls who are currently in eighth through tenth grade.

The camp will be held at the Shelby County Schools Career Technical Educational Center as campers will learn about the countless careers in construction and work side-by-side with professional women. During the week, campers will complete their own projects they will be able to take home with them.

The projects will include carpentry, welding, pipefitting and electrical fields.

Those wishing to register should pick up an application form from a school counselor, complete the form and return it before the deadline on Friday, April 19. Space is limited for those wishing to register.

The Career Technical Educational Center is located at 701 Shelby County 70 in Columbiana.
