HELENA – A lighthearted pageant meant to bring laughs, while also supporting a worthy organization, is coming back to the Helena Sports Complex the second weekend in April.

For the third straight year, the Helena Miracle League will provide fun and laughter in the form of a “Woman-less Beauty Pageant” on Sunday, April 14, and the league is seeking contestants and more.

The pageant will take place at 2 p.m., and all proceeds will benefit the Helena Miracle League’s future construction of a special needs ballpark.

The Helena Miracle League’s mission is to provide opportunities for children with disabilities to play Miracle League Baseball, regardless of their abilities, promote community support and sponsorship of Miracle Leagues and promote the construction of special facilities that meet the unique needs of Miracle League players and their families.

The future home of the 125-foot baseball field will sit on a plot of land roughly 2.5 acres behind Joe Tucker Park that will feature ADA accessible restrooms, a pavilion area, concession stand and a disability accessible parking lot.

Admission to the pageant will cost $5 per person, or a VIP table may be purchased for $100 that seats eight people. The VIP tables are located closer to the stage. Children under the age of 5 will be admitted for free.

The pageant will feature a silent auction, talent show and of course the beauty contest. Contestants will compete to win prizes in several different categories including Ms. Congeniality, Ms. Social Butterfly, Ms. Hottest Hooters, Ms. Best Butts in Town, Ms. Hot Wheels and Ms. Weeds/Best Beard.

Those wishing to become a contestant will need to fill out an application form. For more information about becoming a contestant or to offer items for the silent auction, contact Mary Chambliss at 615-300-3047 or Betty Purcell at 401-4530.

With the funds raised, other alternative uses for the future Miracle League field in Helena could include visits from nursing home members for exercise, kickball, soccer and Special Olympics events.

The Helena Miracle League continues to host a wide-range of fundraisers to help with the project and more information can be found at Facebook.com/HMLAngels/ or Helenamiracleleague.com.
