Joel Lovett, age 89, of Alabaster, passed away Wednesday, March 27.

The visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday, March 29 at Bolton Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Brook Lovett and Rev. Gary Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Gardens. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Mr. Lovett was a Korean War Veteran in the US Army, worked for the U.S. Postal Service, and was a Mason.

Mr. Lovett is preceded in death by his wife, Mariah Jones Lovett; and parents, Forrest Lee and Bertie Marie Lovett.

He is survived by his son, Mark Lovett (Lisa); granddaughter, Carson Lovett; sister, Pauline Hughes; brother, Jessie Lovett (Joy); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to all the caregivers who took care of him in the final months, to New Beacon Hospice for the outstanding care he received, and to Cahaba Family Medicine, Dr. Snyder and staff for the care they gave him over the years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Siluria Baptist Church.
