MONTEVALLO – Those who want to test their agility in a 1-mile obstacle fun run or 5K run can do so at the University of Montevallo’s Warrior Challenge on the morning of April 13.

Now in its second year, the Warrior Challenge is a fundraiser for The Arc of Shelby County, an advocacy agency that provides programs and services to children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families.

Funds from the event benefit the Arc’s early intervention programs for children, parent workshops and monthly job coaching support for individuals with significant disabilities in a competitive employment environment.

The event will last from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and includes kids’ activities, food, music entertainment and a vendor fair.

The 5K and obstacle fun run will start at the University of Montevallo Disc Golf Course, located near the McChesney Student Activity Center.

The 5K run starts at 8:30 a.m., followed by the obstacle run at 10 a.m.
