NORTH SHELBY – The Oak Mountain community is a fast-growing, dynamic area, but a local businesswoman has started an organization she hopes will help establish strong connections among residents and business leaders.

Oak Mountain Connectors, which was founded by Leane Randle, Realtor with Brik Realty, held its first meeting on Feb. 21 at The Neighborhood Brew.

“It’s just a way to bring people together,” Randle said about the organization. “Hopefully it will grow and flourish.”

As a real estate agent, Randle visits businesses and was struck by how many people she had not met previously despite her strong connections in the area.

Oak Mountain Connectors is a community group for the Oak Mountain area whose focus is building relationships by connecting with neighbors and local businesses, all for the betterment of the community.

“Our vision is to create a community where we meet one another, help one another, offer encouragement, inspiration and support while having fun,” reads the mission statement for Oak Mountain Connectors. “Building relationships are the backbone of a great community, and together, we can be the connectors of Oak Mountain while making our community the best it can be.”

About 20 people attended the first meeting, Randle said, and everyone enjoyed coffee and other beverages, networked and entered for a chance to win door prizes.

Randle said she would like to see a variety of industries represented at the meetings, including Oak Mountain area schools.

The group meets quarterly at 6 p.m. at The Neighborhood Brew, which is located at 5184 Caldwell Mill Road in the Valleydale Village shopping center.

The next meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 13. Attendees are asked to bring any information they wish to share like business cards or brochures. Donated door prizes are also appreciated.

Also, those interested can join the closed Facebook group, “Oak Mountain Connectors.”
