MONTEVALLO – The Univeristy of Montevallo will close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, due to the threat of severe weather.

All evening classes, activities and athletic events will be canceled. The cafeteria will remain open for dinner.

The UM Storm Shelter located in the 3D Art Complex will be open to students, faculty and staff from 6 p.m. tonight through 2 a.m. Friday.

Students, faculty and staff are urged to monitor a reliable source of weather information.

The university will provide updates via UMAlert and UM official social media should further communication be necessary.
