ALABASTER – Those looking to get some good deals, or folks looking to do some spring cleaning while making a little money in the process, will have a chance to do so during the city of Alabaster’s upcoming Trash to Treasures communitywide yard sale.

Trash to Treasures will be held on Saturday, May 11, at Buck Creek Park at 701 Sixth Avenue Southwest in Alabaster from 8 a.m. to noon. In the event of inclement weather, the sale will be moved to May 18 at the same time and location.

Seller registration began on April 9, and will go until May 4 or until 50 people are registered, whichever comes first.

Online seller registration is available at Al-alabaster.civicplus.com/220/Trash-to-Treasures-Extravaganza-May, and in-person registration is available at the Alabaster Parks and Recreation Department office at Veterans Park any time Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

The cost to be a seller is $10, and includes a 20-by-20-foot booth. Cash, debit card, Visa Discover or Mastercard payments are accepted, but checks are not.

Sellers must provide their own tables, chairs and canopies, and a charitable organization will be on-site at the end of the event for sellers who wish to donate any unsold items.

Because only 50 booths are available, the city is encouraging sellers to register early.

The city’s communitywide yard sale has been held each year for the past decade, and was established due to the large number of residents who asked to have yard sales at city parks, Parks and Recreation Director Tim Hamm previously said.

The only regulation on which items can be sold are food items, due to Health Department rules.
