William Michael “Mike” Benton, age 71, of Shelby, passed away Wednesday, May 22.

The visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, May 26 at Bolton Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Greene officiating. Burial will follow at the Summer Hill Cemetery. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Mr. Benton is survived by his wife, Sandra Benton; daughter, Kerrie L. Benton (Donnie); sons, William M. Benton Jr. and Mark A. Benton; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren.

He was a member of Summer Hill Baptist Church and was also a Vietnam veteran and a retired truck driver.
