The Shelby County Arts Council in Columbiana is gearing up for a full summer of creative fun with artist Chris Cruz.

Cruz is a certified GOLDEN arts educator and has many years of experience working with students and as an independent artist.

She enjoys sharing her knowledge and love of art with anyone.

Check out her upcoming workshop, The Wax On, Wax Off Batik workshop, on Monday, June 17.

The workshop is for anyone with an interest in unique mixed media projects.

Using watercolor inks and wax on delicate papers, participants will create beautiful, ready-to-hang art work.

On Saturday, July 20, Cruz will teach students how to create beautiful florals out of simple pen line drawings and watercolors.

For a more hands-on class, check out the Silk Scarf Painting class on Monday, July 22.

Cruz will teach participants how to use stencils, dyes and more to decorate your own silk scarves.

For those wanting to try paint pouring, but don’t know where to begin, check out Cruz’s Paint Pouring Workshop on Saturday, July 27.

All supplies are provided for each workshop, and the cost is $75 each.
