PELHAM – The Pelham Public Library will host its second Cosplay Contest on Saturday, July 20, from 2-3 p.m.

The contest is open to people of all ages. However, participants 10 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult. The deadline to register is Monday, July 15 at 7:30 p.m.

Each costume should reflect a fictional character from a book, Manga/graphic novel, movie, television show or video game. Contestants must also provide a reference picture of their character for the judges.

Costumes do not have to be handmade. However, they cannot extend more than 2 feet in any direction to avoid impeding traffic, walkways and other hazards. Only one costume per contestant may be entered into the contest. Costumes must be family-friendly. No nudity or semblance of nudity is allowed. Contestants may enter as an individual or as a group.

Costumes cannot include any of the following: live pets, wild animals, swords, knives, guns, projectiles or anything that has a sharp metal edge or otherwise counts as an authentic weapon. Likewise, performances can’t contain explosive effects, messy substances, etc.

Contestants will be judged by Stan Daniel, owner of Kingdom Comics, and Will and Reed Lochamy, radio co-hosts of “Oh Brother Radio.”

Contestants can either fill out a registration form online at Pelhamlibraryteens.blogspot.com/p/cosplay-contest-2019.html or pick up a registration packet from the Teen Desk at Pelham Public Library.
