CHELSEA – Attendees of the annual Chelsea Fest and The Big Kaboom enjoyed fireworks, music, food and much more on Saturday, June 29.
“We have a wonderful crowd out here tonight,” Chelsea Mayor Tony Picklesimer said during the event while spending time with his granddaughter. “We’ve got plenty of free parking, plenty of food and plenty of fun.”
Picklesimer later entertained the crowd with a rendition of “My Home’s in Alabama,” but the event’s headliner was the band Trotline, which played after the opening act Nacho Daddy.
The fun started at 5:30 p.m. with a Red, White and Blue Parade of “children of all ages” riding on patriotic-themed bicycles, wagons, strollers and more.
The Big Kaboom Fireworks show began at about 9:30 p.m., and food was available throughout the festival from food trucks including Frios, Tee’s, Cajun Boys and Our Poboys, Cheese Louise, City Bowls, Cantina on Wheels, Miami Café, Johnny Ray’s, Bertolone’s, Whiskers, Tassos, Chick-fil-A, Dixie Land, Cookie Destiny and more.
Chelsea Fest was held in the large field behind Dairy Queen.
