Shelby County Board of Education approves several administrative positions

ALABASTER – The Shelby County Board of Education approved several personnel actions across the school system at the latest school board meeting at the Shelby County Instructional Services Building on Tuesday, July 16.

The approved positions included a new student services supervisor, a new assistant principal for Columbiana Middle School, a new assistant principal for Calera Intermediate School, a new system assistant principal, a new assistant principal for Chelsea Middle School and a new interim assistant principal for Forest Oaks Elementary School.

The following individuals were approved for the new administrative positions:

–Patton Furman as the new student services supervisor.

–Paige Jones as the new Columbiana Middle School assistant principal.

–Rebecca Laney as the new Calera Intermediate School assistant principal.

–Lauren Yancey as the new system assistant principal.

–Kenneth Thornbrough as the new Chelsea Middle School assistant principal.

–Carlyn Duncan as the new Forest Oaks Interim assistant principal.

The next Shelby County Board of Education meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 25 at 5 p.m. at the central office.
