HELENA – There will be plenty of barking all for a good cause this fall at the Helena Amphitheater as the fifth annual Barktoberfest returns, offering plenty of fun for everyone.

Each year, Barktoberfest seems to grow in popularity as more than 2,500 people came out to the Helena Amphitheater last year to enjoy the fun.

This year, Two-by-Two Animal Rescue will host “Barktoberfest” on Sunday, Oct. 20 from noon to 4 p.m. that will include a variety of fun things for patrons and their pets.

Highlights of Barktoberfest will include food trucks, vendors, a kid’s zone with bouncy houses, face painting, pony rides, a silent auction, door prizes, a bake sale, pumpkin painting and more.

For pets, there will be an off-leash dog park for running and playing, low cost vaccines and microchips, a gift shop with Two by Two Rescue gear, a photo booth and an adoption center where several dogs will be available for adoption.

Two-by-Two Animal Rescue is currently in search of vendors and volunteers for this year’s event and anyone interested should email Jennifer at Jennifer@twobytworescue.com or Kellie at kellie@twobytworescue.com for more details.

Two-by-Two Animal Rescue is a 501 C (3) no-profit, no-kill organization. Two-by-Two began in 2002 when Sonya Smith began feeding strays in Old Town Helena, according to their website.

She noticed another concerned citizen had been leaving food for them too and placed a note in a bowl. The note was found. They met and combined their efforts to rescue the many stray dogs dodging traffic.
