Authorities found a man dead at the scene of a domestic violence incident outside of the Columbiana city limits on the morning of Sept. 6.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim as 45-year-old Johnny Lee Payne of Shelby.

The incident occurred on Gibson Road in unincorporated Shelby County at about 11 a.m.

No formal charges have been filed against anyone in the case as the investigation continues, according to a press release.
