PELHAM – Pelham City Schools is gearing up to celebrate homecoming by hosting its annual Panther Prowl Parade and Community Pep Rally on Thursday, Sept. 19, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

In addition to the parade and pep rally, students will have opportunities to participate in several activities and themed days from Sept. 16-20, leading up to the high school’s homecoming football game against the Chelsea Hornets on Friday, Sept. 20. The homecoming dance for PHS students will be held at American Village on Saturday, Sept. 21.

The Panther Prowl Parade, which is expected to last about 30 minutes, will begin at Pelham High School and proceed down Bearden Road. It will end at Pelham City Park in the large parking lot adjacent to the baseball fields on the Bearden Road side.

The district anticipates another fun-filled parade with approximately 26 groups participating from the high school, middle school and Pelham Parks and Recreation’s youth sports groups.

Directly following the parade, the Pelham City Schools Foundation will sponsor the second annual Community Pep Rally at the Youth Football Field at Pelham City Park. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will include festivities, such as the Faculty Face-Off Dance and Lip Sync Battle, for all ages to enjoy and show off their Panther Pride.

Music at the pep rally will be provided by DJ Fuzzy. Panther Spirit items will be available for purchase, there will be food trucks and more. Proceeds from the pep rally benefit the Pelham City Schools Foundation.
