‘The Patch’ returns to Helena Hollow Oct. 5

HELENA – The start of fall is here, and one business in Helena will return one of its biggest month-long events as The Patch at Helena Hollow will open to the public the weekend of Oct. 5.

Every weekend in October and the first weekend in November, The Patch will be open with plenty of fall fun for the entire family.

Helena Hollow consists of roughly 160 acres located off Shelby County 17 in Helena and beginning Saturday, Oct. 5, the farm will host the opening day of The Patch for the third straight year.

Entry into The Patch is $10 per person and free for children under the age of two. Each pass is an all-day pass good between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Credit cards will be accepted at the gate but cash is preferred. However, some vendors inside will only accept cash.

Plenty of attractions and fun will be included with an all-day pass including the following:

–Hay Rides not using real hay to accommodate those with allergies.
–Petting zoo.
–Live music for a three hour span daily.
–Human hamster wheel races.
–A 60-foot and two 30-foot pipe slides.
–A 100-foot landslide.
–Plenty of shaded picnic seating in the party barn and Grub Hub pavilion.
–A hay run.
–Photo opportunities.
–Charlie Choo Choo trackless train rides.
–Pipehorse swings.
–Papa’s playground consisting of climbing ropes and tire swings.
–A huge corn barn with double slides.
–Silo city playhouses.
–Yard games including Jumbo Jenga, Horse Ring Toss and more.
–Tire climb and truck slides with sand pit.

Three new attractions for 2019 include a zipswing, sideclimber and the patch dash.

Additional attractions and vendors on site will include live music, gift stand, a $5 mechanical bull ride, a $10 trampoline bungee, $5 horse rides, face painting, food truck dining and a snack shack.

Another main part of The Patch is for visitors to pick out pumpkins. The pumpkins are $2 each, any shape or size that comes from the actual patch. Specialty pumpkins will be price as marked at the gift stand.

The opening weekend will be Saturday, Oct 5 and Sunday, Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
