HHS announces homecoming parade, pep rally details

HELENA – Helena High School has been filled with pride so far this fall as the varsity football team is off to its best start in years at 2-1, and the Huskies will look to continue that momentum as homecoming festivities will begin the week of Sept. 23.

Seeking its first playoff appearance since 2015, Helena High School students, parents and fans will an opportunity to cheer on the Huskies in their quest for a spot in the postseason prior to Helena’s homecoming matchup with Southside-Gadsden.

The Helena High School homecoming festivities will be highlighted by a community homecoming parade on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 6:30 p.m. and a community pep rally following the parade.

The parade starting point will begin on Hillsboro Parkway closest to Helena Road and make its way down the parkway, around the roundabout past Helena Middle School, and turn left at the entrance of the school and go around the backside of the high school where it will conclude inside Husky Stadium.

The parade and community pep rally will include the Helena High School marching band, cheerleaders, dance team members and more to get in the homecoming spirit.

The morning of Friday, Sept. 27, Helena High School will also have a pep rally beginning at 8 a.m.

The Helena High School varsity football team will take on Southside-Gadsden on Friday, Sept. 27, at Husky Stadium with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
