The Shelby County Arts Council is excited to announce the Shelby County Arts Center at Old Mill Square’s ribbon cutting and first gallery exhibit will be held Friday, Sept. 20. Construction continues on the full complex, but the SCAC is eager to preview completed sections of the facility.

On Sept. 20, the SCAC will host the ribbon cutting at 10:30 a.m., followed by a sneak peek of the first phase of opening the Shelby County Arts Center.

Attendees will be able to see the EBSCO Fine Art Gallery, the Black Box Theater and adjacent amenities.

Refreshments for this event will be provided by Masters General Store and the City of Columbiana.

Join us from 6-8 p.m. on Sept. 20 for the first gallery exhibit in the new facility: Root, Branch & STAR featuring the recent works of Douglas Baulos.

Baulos uses handmade paper, natural dye, fiber work and mixed media elements to reveal how nature infiltrates one’s consciousness.

The exhibit will be on display from Sept. 20-Oct. 18.

The gallery opening will be free and open to the public.
