HELENA – Helena High School athletics recently got a boost in funding, thanks to a generous donation from Vulcan Materials Company the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Headquartered in Birmingham, Vulcan has 351 active aggregates facilities and more than 110 facilities that produce asphalt and/or concrete, which also consume aggregates, according to the company.

On Oct. 2, representatives from the Vulcan Materials facility located off Limestone Drive in Helena presented a check valued at $3,500 to the Helena Athletic Association as board members, Helena High School coaches, players and Helena Mayor Mark Hall were on hand to receive the donation.

“At Vulcan, we are committed to serving and supporting the communities where we operate,” Atisthan Roach, Manager of Community and Government Relations for Vulcan Materials Company said. “The men and women of Vulcan take pride in being a good neighbor, and we are proud to support Helena High School and the Helena Athletic Association.”

Vulcan Materials Company is the nation’s largest producer of construction aggregates—primarily crushed stone, sand and gravel—and a major producer of aggregates-based construction materials including asphalt and ready-mixed concrete.

The Helena Athletic Association is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to raise funds to support Helena’s entire student athletic program. Kids from elementary school through high school benefit from membership in the HAA, and funds from the event will directly benefit Helena athletic programs.
