CHELSEA – Authorities are seeking information about a Chelsea teenager last seen on Saturday, Oct. 12.

Ruth Wanita Vanvalkenburg, 17, was last seen at 7:50 p.m. on Oct. 12 getting into a gray Mercedes passenger car, according to information released by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

Vanvalkenburg is described as a white female, 5 feet 4 inches tall with green eyes. Her current hair color is a blue/green mix.

She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black hoodie, black shoes and a book bag.

Vanvalkenburg may be with a white male named Clay.

“At this time, there is no reason to suspect that she is in immediate danger; however, if you have information on her location, please contact Investigator Mark Hughes at 205-670-6274,” read a Facebook post by SCSO.
