Richard “Big Rick” Mitchell, age 65, of Columbiana, passed away Sunday, Oct. 20.

The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 at New Life Pentecostal Church. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25 at the church with Bro. Gary Beane and Bro. Josh Beane officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Gardens. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Big Rick was a member of New Life Pentecostal Church. He worked at Thompson Engineering Company and retired from the Shelby County Highway Department.

Big Rick is preceded in death by his father, Amos Lee Mitchell; brother, Craig Mitchell.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Mitchell; daughters, Erika King (Gerald), Kimberley Mangina (Stephen); mother, Betty Ruth Mitchell; sister, Vickie Hardin (Ron); grandchildren, Zoey, Katelynn, Kaleigh, Makayla.
