SCHS homecoming parade, game moved to Thursday, Oct. 24

COLUMBIANA – Shelby County High School’s homecoming parade and varsity football game have been rescheduled for Thursday, Oct. 24, due to the threat of inclement weather on Friday.

The parade will be held at 1:45 p.m. Thursday. Parking on Main Street will not be available after 12 p.m., and the Columbiana Police Department will start closing streets at 1 p.m.

The Wildcats’ game against Jemison will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday. The SCHS Homecoming Court will be presented prior to kickoff at 6:30 p.m.

The homecoming pep rally will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, followed by the homecoming dance at 8 p.m.

“There are many traditions that are dear to SCHS during Homecoming week and in many ways traditions are the glue that helps hold our community together,” read a post on the SC Wildcat Nation’s Facebook page. “We want everyone to be able to enjoy the homecoming festivities.”
