Gerald E. Peeples, age 74, of Calera, passed away Friday, Nov. 8.

The visitation was from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13 at Bolton Funeral Home. The funeral service followed at 2 p.m., at the funeral home with Rev. Wayne Horton officiating. Burial was at Columbiana City Cemetery. Bolton Funeral Home directed.

Mr. Peeples was a loving father and friend and was a God-fearing man. He enjoyed Alabama football, studying the Bible, and politics. His daughter was his pride and joy.

Mr. Peeples is preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Alice Peeples, sister, Betty Chamness, and nephew, Freddie Bailey.

He is survived by his daughter, Sonya R. Higgins (Lonnie); best friend, Judy Peeples; special niece, Vickie Bailey; brothers, Frank Peeples and Jimmy Peeples; nieces, Wendy and Marie; and nephew, J.C.
