Larry Dale Gravitt, age 68, of Columbiana, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Nov. 10.

The visitation will be from 9:30-11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14 at First Baptist Church of Columbiana. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., at the church with Dr. Mike Miller officiating. Burial will be at Fourmile Cemetery. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Larry graduated from Walker County High School and the University of Montevallo. He worked for Alabama Power for 36 years, and served as Captain in the United States Air Force and leader of Boy Scout Troop 560. As a member of First Baptist Church of Columbiana, he taught Sunday School in the Youth Department for over 30 years, and he served as a deacon.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Emily Morris Gravitt; son, John Patrick Gravitt; sister, Kay Lang; and countless friends and family.
