Annette Thompson Smith

Annette Thompson Smith, age 84, passed away Friday, Nov. 15. She was 84 years old.

The visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 21 at 10 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Columbiana with Dr. Mike Miller officiating.

Mrs. Smith was a loyal wife and mother, following her late husband in his service in the Air Force. This would include living in Arizona, Germany and Texas. After returning to Columbiana, Mrs. Smith worked in the Probate Office and the Board of Education until her retirement. She enjoyed retirement immensely, traveling with her late husband and becoming a ‘full time grandmother’

Mrs. Smith was very involved at the First Baptist Church in Columbiana and enjoyed teaching Sunday School and working with teenage girls. She and her late husband faithfully led a young married couples Sunday school class for many years. Together they touched many lives.

Joy has come as she entered into Heaven with no pain or suffering. The reunion with her husband of 64 years brings immense peace and comfort.

Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband, Nick Smith, and her son, Gregg Smith.

She is survived by her daughters, Susie Humphries (Randy) and Jan Falkner; three grandchildren, Peter Falkner (Marchelle), Kristen Falkner Leonard (Jeff), and Grant Falkner (Kalli); and six great grandchildren.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
