Charles Eugene Boshell, age 83, of Maylene, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 26. Charles was born April 8, 1936.

Charles attended Carbon Hill High School in Carbon Hill, where at 17 he decided to join the U.S. Army Signal Core. He served in the Army for three years. After Mr. Boshell’s military service he worked as a Tile Setter for over 50 years and also worked in the coalmines for 14 years.

Mr. Boshell is survived by his wife, Gail Boshell; children, Allison Nix (Michael), Tim Boshell, Sam Boshell (Leslie), and Brad Boshell (Maury); grandchildren, Elizabeth Walker, Christopher Rollins (Tina), Eddie Harvey, Justin Smith, Barcley Bullard, Will Davis, Carrie Davix, Jay Davis, Dillion Boshell, Brooks Boshell, and Anna Boshell; and great-grandchildren, Bailey Rollins, Skylar Rollins, Payton Rollins, Lee Walker, Nevaeh Walker and Jason Walker.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Florence Boshell, and his father, Sankey Boshell.

A visitation for Charles will be held Monday, Dec. 2 from 11 a.m – noon at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). His funeral service will occur Monday, Dec. 2 at noon, also at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). The burial will occur Monday, Dec. 2 at 1:15 p.m. at Alabama National Cemetery.
