CHELSEA – When the residents and business leaders of Chelsea pull together in the same direction, everyone in the city benefits, real estate expert Genny Williams told the Chelsea Business Alliance.

Williams, associate broker for X-tra Living at eXp Realty, was guest speaker at the CBA’s monthly luncheon on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the Chelsea Community Center.

Real estate agents are ambassadors for the city, Williams said.

“It’s not just selling property, it’s selling why you want to live here,” Williams said. “You’re part of that.”

Residents and businesses benefit as Chelsea becomes more of a destination, Williams said, and locals can help achieve that vision through steps including shopping locally and leaving positive reviews on Google and Facebook.

“We just get in habits of complaining all the time,” Williams said. “We need to celebrate the high points together. It has to start with us as business owners because we’re the leaders here.”

Williams said that when she sells a home, she has about 30 opportunities to refer other local businesses.

Williams also shared how she and her company can make a difference for people selling a home, which she said is a months-long process and a decision that is not made lightly.

X-tra Living hires an interior stager, exterior stager, photographer and videographer, and offers a credit for a moving company, she said.

“The results are pretty amazing,” said Williams, who noted that the market is good for sellers but the competition is also stiff. “The more people that move to Chelsea, the more thriving market we’re going to have.”

Williams is also a “6 Figure Real Estate Coach” for Get a Real Estate Life, a coaching and training company she founded more than 11 years ago. She received eXp Realty’s most prestigious award, being named an ICON Agent after closing more than $10 million in sales in her first year helping buyers and sellers in over a decade.

Williams has been featured on national broadcast affiliates, podcasts and large conferences, and she hosts her own weekly radio show on Kool 96.9 FM called “Life Along 280 & Chelsea: Discussing Your Property Values.”
