City must address dangerous ditch

Published 3:00 pm Tuesday, December 17, 2019

Dear Editor,

I’m a resident of Alabaster and on Dec. 11 around 5:30 pm, I drove into a ditch in front of the Chevron gas station located at 1366 1st North in Alabaster.

After talking with the store attendant, I learned that this has happened to multiple drivers on several occasions. Something must be done about this issue.

I understand that the owner of the gas station has attempted to install a marker to warn drivers but the City of Alabaster will not allow signage. My car is not drivable and it’s my only means of transportation from Alabaster to Gardendale. I would like for something to be done by the city to make others aware of this issue and compensation me for the loss.

I am a grandmother and I thank God I was the only one in the car. I can be reached by email at tashacarter1972@yahoo.com.

Thank You,

Tasha Liffridge
