A New Year’s Day hike, a wine tasting, an intimate dinner and jumping on trampolines are among the activities you can enjoy across Shelby County this New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day 2020.

Corbin Farms Winery in Calera is hosting a New Year’s Eve dinner with two different time slots on Tuesday, Dec. 31, one from 6-7:30 p.m. and another from 7:30-9 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person and reservations are required.

“It’s going to be a nice, intimate dinner at the winery, which is unique to a lot of other places,” said winemaker Matt Corbin. “Our chef-inspired menu will be sure to please. It will be a fun night to come out and spend New Year’s Eve.”

Corbin added that the winery has all Alabama-made wines. Live music by JQ’s One Man Swing Band will be featured from 6-9 p.m. Tickets include one glass of wine, one starter, one entrée and one dessert per person.

If you’re an active morning person, Oak Mountain State Park is offering a pre-sunrise hike to King’s Chair on New Year’s Day; participants can be among the first to watch the sun rise over Shelby County on Jan. 1, 2020.

The hike is scheduled to begin at 5:30 a.m. starting at the North Trailhead. In case of inclement weather, the hike may be postponed until a later time that day. It is suggested that hikers wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring along items such as a flashlight or headlamp, water, snacks, a hiking pole or stick and a camera. Visitors are asked to use only the front entrance gate at OMSP.

If you prefer staying indoors but are still the energetic type, perhaps Altitude Trampoline Park’s New Year’s Eve Glow Party will float your boat. The Pelham park’s event will begin Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. and last into the first hour of 2020 until 1 a.m.

Admission is $39.95 through Dec. 28 and $49.95 after that. Admission includes unlimited jumps on 10-plus attractions, plus a deejay, glow lights, free pizza and drink, basketball dunk contest, dodgeball tournaments, prizes every hour, party favors, midnight countdown and more.
