Christmas money

Dear Editor,

I wanted to share with you something about my Mother, Mildred Baldwin, who recent passed Nov. 22, 2019. This is an amusing story about her that happened every Christmas. Twenty years ago she started giving the members of our family,  all thirty two members, $10 each. Knowing how hard she worked quilting and putting up preserves and selling them, we decided to give it back. One of our family members, Dale Baldwin, collected the money secretly, except from children under 12 years old. He would wait till around 1:00 a.m.  each Christmas morning (Mother was sure to be asleep) and tape an envelope to the back door and wrote “from your Secret Admirer”. All the years we did this Mother, she never found out who her “Secret Admirer” was!

We loved being her “Secret Admirer” as well as loving her very

much and now that she’s gone we miss her, oh so much!
