HELENA – As the weather begins to warm in the coming months, families will soon be making their way to the ballpark and soccer field to welcome the arrival of spring sports.

Registration is now open to youth boys and girls in the Helena community wishing to participate in spring sports including baseball, softball and soccer for the 2020 season.

Registration is taking place between now and Jan. 25 for soccer and the deadline for baseball and softball ends Jan. 26.

Parents of youth players interested in playing can register online at Helenaparkandrec.org or can register in person.

In-person registration for all spring sports will be Jan. 21-24 from 1-5 p.m. at the parks and recreation office located in the Helena Community Center.

The spring sports include the Dizzy Dean baseball league, the USSSA softball league and the CASL soccer league. The cost associated with each sport is $170 per player. The cost for 3-4 year old tee-ball is $100 for both baseball and softball. A multi-child discount of $10 may be applied after the oldest child registration is paid in full.

The baseball league is available for players between the ages of 3 and 14 years old and the soccer and softball leagues are open to boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 12.

The Helena Parks and Recreation department is currently looking for volunteer coaches in each league and anyone interested in volunteering should contact Helena Parks and Recreation Director Bill Miller.

To volunteer as a coach or for any other questions, call the Helena Parks and Recreation office at 620-2877 or email bmiller@cityofhelena.org.

The Helena Community Center is located at 110 Sports Complex Drive.
