Pelham Council approves upgrades for Pelham Racquet Club

PELHAM – Several improvements will soon be coming to the Pelham Racquet Club following the approval of a resolution to authorize the upgrades by the Pelham City Council at the latest meeting on Thursday, Jan. 23.

The city authorized an agreement with Hulon Construction, Inc. in the amount of $34,809 that will cover improvements to the clubhouse to include the removal and replacement of existing soffits, fascia, gutters and lighting and new materials.

According to the memorandum, the soffit replacement will include the addition of additional anchorage supports to prevent future failures and the existing conventional lighting in the soffits will be removed as part of the process and be replaced with LED lighting.

The breakdown of the quote from Hulon Construction Co. is $29,720 for the removal of old soffit and fascia, soffit in ceiling and hallway, adding one-by-four stripping to ceiling and eaves for extra support and the installation of alside supper san soffit to all eaves and ceilings.

The installation of new six-inch gutters and three-by-four downspouts around the exterior of the building will cost $3,539.

Lastly, the removal of ceiling fans on the exterior of buildings based on 31 lights and their replacement with LED lights will cost $1,550 bringing the total cost of the project to $34,809.
